Scooter Rental for Bottle Beach, Koh Phangan 2026

Bottle Beach (Haad Khuat) is, by fairly broad consensus, the most beautiful beach on Koh Phangan — a small curving bay of fine white sand between two jungle headlands on the far north coast, with turquoise water and almost nothing built on the beach itself beyond three small family-run bungalow operations. There's no paved road in, no electricity grid, and no noise beyond the cicadas and the sea. In a country with thousands of beaches, this one still stands out.

Bottle Beach has no road access. You get here two ways: **longtail boat** from Chaloklum pier (around 150-200 THB per person, 20 minutes, runs throughout the day until around 5 pm), or the **Bottle Beach jungle hike** from the trailhead on the coastal road near Haad Khom, which takes 45 minutes uphill and down through steep jungle (proper shoes, water, not for children).

A scooter gets you to either the Chaloklum pier or the trailhead, but not onto the beach itself. Most visitors ride from wherever they're staying to Chaloklum, park the scooter at the pier's informal lot, and take the longtail over. Day trips work well — leave in the morning, longtail in, swim and eat lunch at one of the bungalow restaurants, longtail back mid-afternoon. If you want to stay overnight (and you probably should if you like beaches), book one of the three bungalow camps directly; they're basic but the location is unbeatable.

The ride to Chaloklum from Thong Sala is 25-30 minutes on flat easy roads. From Sri Thanu it's 15 minutes. Fill up at the Thong Sala PTT before you leave — the north coast has almost no fuel.
